Naivas demonstrates leadership with their new supermarket concept, positioning themselves strongly in the market. Naivas is currently the largest supermarket chain in Kenya. The new Naivas stores blend African heritage with modern retail principles, creating a unique shopping experience filled with colors and flavors. In addition to the supermarket concept, JDV also developed a food market concept.
In addition to the supermarket concept, JDV also developed a food market for the Kenyan Naivas. The first four stores in Nairobi are open, with two more under construction. These stores vary in size from 2500 to 6000 square meters.
When conceptualizing this idea, we delved into what truly constitutes the authentic American food market experience. What lies at the core of this experience? We endeavored to translate this essence into a local context, integrating all the elements that make the original food market captivating and inspirational. Utilizing local materials was key; for example, the wooden stalls in the fresh produce section are crafted from wood chips, a byproduct of the local wood industry.
