What we do in food retail

We develop complete supermarket concepts: store layout and routing, interior design, fresh departments, checkout zones, branding and in-store communication. Whether you are repositioning an existing banner, launching a new format or rolling out hundreds of stores, we cover every step from mastervision to technical drawings and opening day.

Our work spans every food retail format: hypermarkets, supermarkets, city and convenience formats, fresh markets and discount concepts. Each format has its own economics, and our designs respect them. Beautiful is not enough; a supermarket has to sell.

02

Our approach: concept, format manual, roll-out

Every project starts with the shopper mission. Time, money, convenience or discovery: understanding why people visit your store determines the layout, the assortment presentation and the atmosphere. From there we build a pilot concept, capture it in a format manual and remodeling kit, and support the controlled roll-out across your estate, including value engineering along the way.

This three-phase model, from concept development to roll-out guidelines to implementation partnership, is how a single successful pilot becomes a consistent, profitable store network.

Retail projects that we're proud of

Retailers we have designed for include EDEKA and REWE in Germany, SPAR, Naivas in Kenya, FairPrice in Singapore, ADCOOP in Abu Dhabi, MercaJUMBO, Fathalla in Egypt and family-owned heroes such as Boon's Markt and Jacob's. From a 400-store roll-out to a single flagship fresh market, the goal is the same: a store that outperforms its predecessor.

Frequently asked questions

What does a supermarket design project cost?

That depends on scope: a concept study for a single store is a different investment than a full format development with roll-out manual. After a first conversation we provide a clear, phased proposal so you know exactly what to expect.

How long does it take to develop a new supermarket concept?

A new retail concept typically takes six to nine months from mastervision to pilot store, followed by three to six months for the format manual and roll-out guidelines.

Do you also design small convenience formats?

Yes. We design the full spectrum, from hypermarkets to compact city and convenience stores, each engineered for its own footprint and revenue model

Do you help with rolling out to multiple stores?

Our experience with multi-location organizations allows us to translate a strong idea into a consistent format that works across markets. We develop format guides, brand manuals and tender documents that ensure every location reflects the same proposition while adapting to local needs. We design concepts that are scalable and executable.
